Shot a large Montana Buffalo with my 1886 Pedelosi 45/70 reproduction lever action in July 2022. The 405 Grain Laser did extensive damage. Had the same experience with an Idaho Black Bear in May 2022 with my Marlin 1895 45/70. Smaller critter; devastating results. Easy to reload, accurate and delivers a massive punch. A real winner in my book. WSM

Excellent bullet...extremely accurate with no leading at 1600+ fps velocity.

Bought my first batch of 405's 10 yrs ? ago. I shoot a new model Winchester 1886 Lever w/ a 26" brl.- Reload with Hodgdon 4895 -50 Grns.-CCI 200 primer. What a "hoot" to shoot. The load keeps the CUP under 20,000 (safe for this 1998 production). It may be slightly compressed and yields 1614 FPS. that's fast enough. Let the big bullets do their job. "Big bullets make big holes" You have to put a slight crimp at 2.550-2.560 in order to feed and chamber the rounds out of the tube mag. All of this data is per the Hodgdon Reload site. If anyone wants to load 500 GRN RN (single shot only)-E-mail me. I bought enough Laser's to last a lifetime. A FANTASTIC bullet!!
